Holistic Treatment InformationAromatherapy MassageAromatherapy is a form of complementary medicine which uses essential oils (extracted from plants) to heal the body and rebalance the mind. As with many 'alternative' forms of healing, each aromatherapy treatment is unique to the individual concerned. Aromatherapists assess your condition and then prepare a blend of essential oils tailor-made to your requirements. Treatment usually involves massage or inhalation of the oils - despite the inference in the name, aromatherapy, that it is a scent-based form of therapy, the oils actually work mainly through absorption through the skin. Indian Head MassageIndian head massage is a treatment based on old Ayurvedic techniques involving work on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face. A variety of massage movements are used to relieve accumulated tension, stimulate circulation and restore joint movement. Indian head massage is also used to aid the condition and health of the hair, particularly when combined with the use of natural organic oils. Indian Head Massage is used by practitioners to help reduce stress and fatigue, increase mental clarity, and relax and rejuvenate the receiver. The benefits of Indian head massage include: No special equipment is required; calms, revitalizes and uplifts the spirit; relaxes taut and uncomfortable muscles, eases stiffness, stimulates blood circulation and drains away accumulated toxins, which help to eliminate headaches and eye strain; increased joint mobility; increased blood flow to the brain resulting in more focused thought, greater concentration and better memory; improved lymphatic drainage; can give your hair a healthy lustrous shine and improve skin condition; encourages deeper breathing and deep relaxation; very enjoyable and triggers the release of "feel good" chemicals called endorphins creating an almost euphoric sensation of contentment and happiness. OsteopathyOsteopathy recognises the importance of the link between the structure of the human body and the way it functions. Osteopaths focus on the body’s skeleton and joint function along with the underlying muscles, soft tissue and internal organs. Osteopaths consider each person as an individual. Utilising a highly developed sense of touch, they identify problem areas of the body. Using gentle stretching and mobilising techniques as well as manipulating joints, an osteopath works with the body to create the perfect conditions to facilitate the healing process. Treatment usually consists of a combination of soft-tissue releasing techniques, some specific adjustments affecting joints and soft-tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments). Taking a holistic view, the Osteopath is able to assess any underlying conditions which may be having an impact, on what seems to be, a totally unrelated area. Advice can also be given on self-help treatments. Osteopathy is suitable for all members of the family. Osteopathy is suitable to treat of number of conditions, including, but not limited to:
What to expect In some cases the Osteopath may need to refer to your GP for further consultation and / or a second opinion which may be helpful in solving your problem. As with your GP, all personal and clinical information is dealt with in the strictest confidence.

When you are unwell, recovering from illness, or suffering from stress, the pathways through which the energy flows become imbalanced - which exerts a negative effect on you and the way in which you function. A course of reflexology aims to release those blockages in the flow of energy to restore your body to its ideal state. The benefits of reflexology include the following: it relaxes, balances & harmonises the body; strengthens the entire body and supports the body in its own healing process; provides an opportunity to de-stress & release tension; helps you to maintain a good general health by relieving the body of toxins; encourages a healthy immune system to fight infection. ReikiReiki is a healing approach that uses light touch from the practitioner to channel healing energy to the recipient. Used to relieve physical and emotional pain and to promote spiritual clarity, Reiki also speeds the healing process and balances the body's energy. The benefits of reiki include: Helps to heal the cause and eliminates the effect of imbalances; energizes your entire system safely and quickly; helps to minimize your sense of helplessness and powerlessness when faced with disease and crisis situations; helps eliminate accumulated daily stress acquired from the rigors of modern life; is not a belief system; promotes from within you the qualities of loving, caring, growing, compassion, trusting, peace, calm and serenity; does not conflict with your religious beliefs; can be used with animals and plants; can be used any time, any place and in any situation; helps to prevent physical disorders and to maintain a balanced state of health. |
